Na letošnjo razstavo 5. mednarodnega festivala akvarela malega formata – Mini Castra 2024 je bilo sprejetih 138 avtorjev iz 29 držav. Prispela dela so raznovrstna v različnih slogovnih načinih.
Some 138 authors from 29 countries were admitted to this year’s exhibition of the 5th International Small Format Watercolour Festival Mini Castra 2024. Watercolour is an ancient and very grateful painting technique, which, with its specific luminosity, softness and colour transparency, as well as the sharpness of the line, enables extensive artistic expression. The submitted artworks are diverse in different stylistic ways. In terms of expression, the watercolours are quite different from each other and deal with various topics in terms of content. Figural works with landscape motifs, genre paintings and still lifes predominate, while some works move into the field of abstract imagery. The accepted artworks are mostly of high or adequate artistic quality, so the committee had a rather difficult job in evaluating them. The committee took into account the general quality criteria that apply to fine art, or specifically to watercolour. When selecting the artworks, the committee had no other restrictions. All watercolour techniques, motifs and concepts, the originality of the idea and the approach to solving artistic problems were considered. Through this prism, they made a decision and selected works that stand out, and awarded prizes and honourable mention certificates.
Že od samega začetka je odziv avtorjev na Mini Castri (mali format) manjši kot pri Castri (velik format), zato je žirija temu primerno podelila manj nagrad in diplom, kot jih sicer podeli pri Castri. Komisijo, kateri je predsedoval Vladimir Bačič, vodja Lokarjeve galerije, predstavnik IWS Slovenije, podpredsednik Zveze društev slovenskih likovnih umetnikov in predsednik Društva likovnih umetnikov Severne Primorske, so sestavljali mag. Marija Nabernik, docentka na Akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje, smer ilustracija, Lucijan Bratuš, upokojeni prof. na Akademiji za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje, in Azad Karim, akademski slikar.
Nagrado Občine Ajdovščina je prejela Janna Liebender-Folz iz Nemčije. Sponzorske nagrade so prejeli Matija Cipurić iz Slovenije, Momčilo Dabanović iz Srbije in Carlos Perez Lopez iz Španije. Diplome so prejeli Leszek Błażewicz s Poljske, Larisa Golec s Hrvaške, Marisa Pietraperzia iz Italije ter Drago Hajdarovič, Kara Kalajžič, Slobodan Milojević, Andrej Novak in Jože Šajn iz Slovenije.
From the very beginning, the response of authors to Mini Castra (small format) has been lower than that of Castra (large format), so the committee accordingly awarded fewer prizes and honourable mention certificates than they normally award at Castra.
The committee, which was chaired by Vladimir Bačič, head of the Lokar Gallery, representative of IWS Slovenia, vice-president of the Association of Slovenian Fine Artists and president of the Fine Artists Association of Northern Primorska, consisted of mag. Marija Nabernik, assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, department of illustration, Lucijan Bratuš, professor emeritus at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, and Azad Karim, academic painter.
The Municipality of Ajdovščina Award was given to Janna Liebender-Folz from Germany. Sponsor awards were given to Matija Cipurić from Slovenia, Momčilo Dabanović from Serbia and Carlos Perez Lopez from Spain. Honourable mention certificates were awarded to Leszek Błażewicz from Poland, Larisa Golec from Croatia, Marisa Pietraperzia from Italy and Drago Hajdarovič, Kara Kalajžič, Slobodan Milojević, Andrej Novak and Jože Šajn from Slovenia.
